Games for 4 people

Rhi86 · 28/07/2024 17:19

We're off on holiday with another couple next week.
I'd love to hear some suggestions for games to take with us for the evenings please.

We've really enjoyed Chameleon and Balderdash in the past, but open to all suggestions (apart from really long games like Monopoly).

Addictive ones also good!

Thank you all!

Cards against humanity is really funny, bit rude in places but good for a laugh. Or Uno

ToniGreen · 28/07/2024 17:21

Naked twister?

5 second rule is a good game.

Cheerfulcharlie · 28/07/2024 17:23

Sock game

Mumtotweensos · 28/07/2024 17:25

Ticket to ride

taco cat goat cheese pizza

Iasonnas · 28/07/2024 17:38

Cards against humanity is utter shite. Don't take that.

Exploding Kittens is good

If you're 7 maybe.

UnalliterativeGeorge · 28/07/2024 17:42

Mapominoes

We bought rapid rumble for the kids but the adults played it for far longer and got far too competitive

youngestisapsycho · 28/07/2024 17:45

Rummikub is fun.

HillBillieEilish · 28/07/2024 18:51

Card games - shithead, blackjack and cheat are easy enough.

There's a game on phones called Jack in a box. Quite good.

WhatICallMyUsername · 28/07/2024 18:53

Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza

Happy Salmon

6 second scribbles

Iasonnas · 28/07/2024 21:54

@ToniGreen you suggested 5 second rule 🤣 take it you've never played exploding kittens?

Yeah i played it with some 7 year olds who cried when they lost. Cards were bent.

5 second rule is marginally more cerebral

Iasonnas · 29/07/2024 07:25

We will have to disagree 🤣 at least you need to be tactical with exploding kittens. Can really mess up the other players too.

5 second rule though. Inanely shouting out words. No thanks.

Pandemic is also a good collaborative game if you've space and time. Depends on the type of holiday

Pandemic is a great call! Takes about an hour once you've learned the rules. Very similar but slightly shorter and much easier is Forbidden Island. We love co-operative games! (This is where all the players are a team trying to "beat the game.")

We also like Port Royal. Cheap and portable.

Funderthighs · 29/07/2024 07:35

Rummikub, Rummikub Word, Upwords, Rapidough, Honeycombs and Sequence are our favourites. Also “Oh Hell” which is a card game. Google it for the rules.

whatsappdoc · 29/07/2024 08:57

You can't beat Articulate and Pictionary imo. Card game Pig is hilarious especially after a few drinks.

westcountrywoman · 29/07/2024 09:01

Mexican Train

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 29/07/2024 09:02

Mexican Train Dominoes.

Rhi86 · 29/07/2024 09:03

Thank you so much for all of these suggestions so far! Think you've sorted me out for many future birthday gifts too!

For a 4 adult holiday I would take Cascadia, Azul, Photosynthesis and Splendor if luggage space allowed.

If luggage space limited - azul and splendor are available in a smaller sized travel version. Deep Sea Adventure is a fun game that packs up not much bigger than a pack of cards, and Ages of Civilisation is another that's good fun with a smsll box size.
