Such a wonderful film... Bing, Frank, Grace and Louis... ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Grace actually wore her engagement ring from Prince Rainier in the film!!

isn't it funny that she made the name Tracy seem so classy and elegant? I'm sure she's what caused that name to explode over the following couple of decades.

Do I want a yacht? Oh how I do not.

She had singing lessons for True Love. I saw High Society twice years ago at Ipswich Wolsey. Then in 2005 I saw The Philadelphia Story at the Old Vic with Spacey as CKDH....

It is glorious.

One of my favourite films but I always forget the name of it. It was done before and called The Philadelphia story or at least it had Philadelphia in it and starred Katherine Hepburn but I prefer High Society. I always have to google the Philadelphia one to get the right name!!

Frankley · 30/07/2024 16:54

One of my favourite films too. It's lovely.

AmandaHoldensLips · 30/07/2024 17:18

Oh, the clothes!!!! Her dresses!!!

reluctantbrit · 30/07/2024 17:29

I love that movie. The Philadelphia Story is also good but the musical bit just makes High Society extra special for me.

We actually just talked about Katherine Hepburn yesterday evening and DH mentioned both movies and DD had no clue. I need to dig them out and make her watch them.

High Society is good, but I prefer The Philadelphia Story. Cary Grant and James Stewart! Two of my all-time favourites. Katharine Hepburn was marvellous as Tracy.

FabulouslyFab · 30/07/2024 17:39

Oh that’s one of my favourite feel good movies too! How beautiful was Grace Kelly, how handsome was Frank Sinatra, and I adore Bing Crosby.

RubieChewsDay · 30/07/2024 17:46

I adore this movie, Grace Kelly was such an icon. Always meant to watch The Philadelphia story but have never got round to it.

MsGoodenough · 30/07/2024 17:48

My favourite film ever! The cast of The Philadelphia Story is to die for as well so I really need to watch that too.

ginasevern · 30/07/2024 17:51

When I was little I wanted to grow up to look and dress like Grace Kelly. Guess what, I didn't. I was surprisingly moved when she died. Anyway, love the film and the original with Hepburn.
