Recommendations for hotel in London

We are going to London next weekend on a very rare date weekend, it's my birthday and our anniversary (10 years) so want a hotel that bit more upmarket than a premier inn, any suggestions? Budget up to £500 for the night

We have stayed at the Waldorf in Aldwych and also at the St Pancras by the station and would recommend either of them.

Not stayed there personally, but a mate likes the Royal Lancaster by Lancaster Gate tube.

Most of the Firmdale Hotels are very nice, depends on what your other plans are as to which one. Ham Yard of Covent Garden probably have been my favourite.

What about the sunborn mega yacht for something different

FuckMeUpFlorida · 28/07/2024 08:35

Sea Containers is fab and in a great location for getting out and about if you want to see some stuff.

AuntieDolly · 28/07/2024 08:47

With that budget there is lots of choice. I like the look for NoMad in Covent Garden. Where do you want to be located?

somsaa · 28/07/2024 09:48

Somewhere within zone 1, or on a night tube station

I suppose I want something a little quirky!

I have stayed at the Royal Lancaster and enjoyed it.

We like leonardo st Paul's.

It sounds like you want something boutique rather than one of the big chains, however grand and luxurious they might be

yumyum33 · 28/07/2024 11:00

I like the Radisson Blu in Leicester Square, it's the smaller boutique hotel of the Radisson chain, not a big one at all. It's right in Leicester square itself, it's about £300 per night and the rooms are perfect. Well soundproofed too for outside noise but you still cannot shield yourself from noisy late returners to rooms. WIWWP?

Mayfair town house is boutique ? Should be in your budget

LondonTraveller · 28/07/2024 12:23

If you want boutique The Kimpton Fitzroy in Bloomsbury might be an option. Rooms are small but the common areas have a lot of history.

yumyum33 · 28/07/2024 12:25

@ FakeMiddleton

I stayed in Hazlitt's but the creaky floorboards overhead and on the corridor drove me mad. I'd never stay there again.

The Hoxton is lovely!

sunshinechaser · 28/07/2024 12:50

I really like the Marylebone hotel. It's small but beautiful inside and it's in a fabulous area. Staff lovely!

ThreeB · 28/07/2024 13:01

The Red Carnation hotels are wonderful. The Chesterfield Mayfair has the most lovely bar and the most amazing rice pudding 😂
