I have a son who has hit his gf who lives with me. She has no place to go and I've removed him from the home for her safety (not the first time, has issues with alcohol and I'm sorry I'm done) thing is I'm not sure how to help her. Her family dont want to know and I do t know where to start. Please help me I'm at the end of my tether here. I can not put a girl on the street.

Has she called the police? He’s assaulted her and she should press charges. How old is she? Does she work? Or studying?

Give her a notice of eviction in writing, so she can take it to the council and ask to be rehoused. I think if she is technically a lodger, it has to be one week's notice? You and she might know you wouldn't really kick her out, but the council have to be convinced.

It depends. You could contact Refuge and enquire about a refuge space for her if she has nowhere to go.

You can phone the National Domestic Abuse Helpline which is 24/7 for advice. You could make a report to the police. Tomorrow you could contact your local domestic abuse organisation to see what help is available to her locally. You can also contact Shelter for housing advice for her

Regarding your son you could get him to contact Respect, which is for perpetrators of domestic abuse.

Report the assault to the policeif she agrees , is the house safe. Are you going to let him come back or has he gone for good. You can't gave them both living there, one of them has to go. She could contact women's aid or is she able to find somewhere to live.

He shouldn’t be coming back. Surely she can stay with you until she has an alternative.

Just want to say well done for protecting her and removing your son from the home.
