Jlo and Ben’s $68 mill house for sale (pics)

So Zillow have put up more pics from inside their house for sale. I think it’s been decorated beautifully and even though it’s ginormous, feels very homely.

Don’t think they’ll get 68 for it though

Well the gossip was Ben never liked it, thought it was too big and too far away from his kids (why they bought cash then I don’t know!) . But they had been searching for a house for two years and seen dozens and dozens of properties, they probably panic bought.

But he moved out months ago and has now bought a new 20 mil property.
Don’t know what’s happening with their marriage though

Do we know what the 20 mil. Property is like?....I feel very over invested in this now 🤣🤣

Swisscave · 28/07/2024 09:13

This is bens new house.

Doesn’t have interior pics but looks lovely from the outside and very much the opposite of the 68mil house. It’s looks family friendly and lovely grounds

Ooh much prefer this one yes, although wouldn't decline either

Swisscave · 28/07/2024 09:20

The previous home was over 38,000 sq ft….this is just over 6,000sq ft. What a difference.

Ben's new pad is gorgeous!

yomellamoHelly · 28/07/2024 09:38

It's something like 50 times the size of our house. Tbh that's a long walk to the closest loo. So on reflection I'd be grateful for them

LaughingElderberry · 28/07/2024 09:39

Much prefer Ben's new place - it feels like a home. I'd want to look at the garden to make sure it was as drought tolerant as possible - the lawn looks like it would need a lot of water which isn't water efficient. I also don't like the metallics and stainless steel in the kitchen as it feels very jarring against the feel of the house. But overall it's lovely and way nicer than the McMansion he's moved out of!

So many sofas 😂😂😂

ooh this is lovely! Much easier to dust, too.

No chess board at Ben’s place. Seems J-Lo is the chess player then!

imfae · 28/07/2024 11:04

I quite like the interiors of their joint home . It does look too big though . As with everyone else my mind is boggled by the bathrooms - did each of the house inhabitants get 3 each ( they had 5 kids between them ) and then 3 guest bathrooms ????

How did they find each other in the rooms / their kids when having meals etc ? I assume they would have some kind of intercom / Alexa .

My kids would still pretend they hadn't heard and want to stay on devices .

When taking dogs / cats to the vets etc you would have to allow hours of staff time to locate them !

My final reason for passing it up is I would never find my phone ever again .... I am forever putting it down and then not remembering where I left it . I would need to employ someone full time for this role alone .

I agree that Ben's new house looks lovely and with 5 bedrooms and "only " 6 bathrooms is more of a family home .

CharlotteRumpling · 28/07/2024 11:09

I am worried only 5 beds might not be enough for Ben. 3 kids, and maybe Matt Damon comes over often, or even Jen Garner? Plus he needs a smoking room?

I am way too invested in this!

Aroastdinnerisnotahumanright · 28/07/2024 12:42

Ben has good taste, I love his new house except the kitchen. I think he'll be smoking in all the rooms though lol, with an iced coffee.

Bouledeneige · 28/07/2024 12:46

It is an amazing house but way too big - it's not on a human scale (however big your family). My brother in law had a house with some huge reception rooms. They spent all their evenings in the tiny snug. You can't have a cosy night in watching TV in a ballroom.

Jackreacherstrousers · 28/07/2024 13:04

Wow! 😍😍
It's a thing of dreams ......I'm guessing if you had 68 mil to buy it you could also afford the staff to run and maintain it 🤣

LaughingElderberry · 27/07/2024 21:10

I don't like it. The entrance feels like a hotel rather than a home - it feels really impersonal which I think is because it's so vast. There aren't any particular design features that stand out - it just feels boxy. Also boggling at 24 bathrooms - why?!? If you allow one for each bedroom, a guest bathroom, one off the kitchen, and one near the gym/hair salon/whatever, that's still only 15!

Lol you're right about looking like a hotel. I think it's the large, doorless entry ways between rooms. That first picture just needs a reception desk in the middle!

charlieinthehaystack · 28/07/2024 13:46

Not my cup of tea but its quite tasteful which makes a change for a lot of these stars!

Now that one is MUCH better. Much, much nicer. Actually a home - rather than a hotel with no guests.

Now that is a house I would buy (if I had 20 million knocking around 🤣)

That is lovely and looks nice and relaxing and homely.

OK, Dh is a quasi-expert on Persian carpets- don't ask; he has his own collection- and he says the carpets are fake and not hand-woven. The tell tale sign is how they have crumpled because they are so thin. This reduced my FOMO!

Actually, the highest quality handmade persian carpets are woven from extremely fine wool or silk, which means more kpsi (knots per square inch) which tends to result in lower pile, so a thinner carpet. Only a the most skilled knotters can make a thin carpet, I believe the most valuable ones are under 5mm when new. Some of theirs look antique to me, which can also increase their value.

On another note, they, or whoever staged or decorated the house, seem very fond of brown.

RickyGervaislovesdogs · 28/07/2024 20:10

Oh god, it’s terrible and so small … 😆 68 mil though, bloody hell.

MeandBobbyMcGoo · 28/07/2024 20:24

I like the salon basin in the bathroom. Imagine a world where someone else washes your hair everytime. It's an insane size though, I sometimes think being famous must be a curse - people everywhere all the time. Hope they find happiness.
