Please feel sorry for me

I’m 54, had an ablation a few years ago because of horrific periods that were ruining my life. I now don’t get periods, only the odd spotting… until today when a real proper clots and all kind started. Cramps, bloating you get the picture.

Now the killer. I have a boyfriend who I don’t see much because of our childcare etc. We have the very rare and first chance of a break away abroad. Leaving tomorrow 🙈

I hardly bleed anymore but would see GP for this

How long ago did you have the ablation?

It isnt unheard of for periods to come back a few years after an ablation, but any big changes probably should be checked just to be sure.

it was done in February 2021. I’m just gutted this has happened now. It’s been a horrible time, and this has really ruined the trip

booked, and now I’m just worried about period carnage and not the hot sex fun it was meant to be. We never get time alone. Just why bloody now?!!

There's a medication you can get to stop periods for holidays etc, there was a post about it recently. Im not sure if they work when the period has already started, but if someone can tell you what the name is then that might help?

Thanks- yes, I’ve had that in the past. Couldn’t speak to a doctor though as it’s Saturday 🥲 It’s all just Sod’s Law.

I’m also really scared the whole awful cycle is starting again. I know I’m a self pitying prick but this was my one holiday in two years and my first with him. I feel about as enthused and sexy as a balloon and I feel guilty as he’s a single parent with his dc full time and is so looking forward to the break.
