Stalking or Scientology?

I fell out with this girl who appeared to be quite mentally unwell and unstable. Various personality disorder things going on.

She would behave in insane ways and never see she was wrong.

Argued with everyone.

She stayed at my house for some days but her behaviour became too erratic and I asked her to leave. (Posted about it on mumsnet at the time) This caused her to flip out at me. She demanded I pay her x amount of money amongst other things or "she'd make sure I didn't receive money I wasn't entitled to" (a pip and UC claimant). I was entitled to the money ofc but it was just a number of threats she made.

I actually received a call from dwp some time ago. They had to do an assessment to check I was still entitled to it. I was.
She said someone had put in a complaint suggesting I wasn't entitled to it. The complaint was put in shortly after I asked her to leave my house.

More recently, I discovered she had been fraudulently using my card for subscriptions.

In the last month I've received many calls from companies claiming I'd requested a call back. Car dealerships and other things. They had my name and number.

Today I received a parcel from "the scientology church" according to the label. Inside is a book or dvd of some sort. Addressed to me with my full name.

I'm wondering if they're all linked but I wanted to check if anyone on MN had received such mail from the scientology church or similar?

It's all just so bizarre

I don't know about Scientology but I've never received anything like that in the post and given everything else that has happened it's likely to be your ex friend. I would report all of it to the police, you can do it online and they'll call you back.

AtrociousCircumstance · 27/07/2024 12:15

Yes report it all to the police.

Your “friend” will be behind it. I agree with the suggestion to log it with the police as harassment.

And don’t get drawn into Scientology! You may find they can be quite persistent.

How is she using your card for subscriptions? Phone your bank , order a new card and cancel all the subscriptions.

Block unknown callers on your phone. Contact the police for advice. Throw away the Scientology stuff and cancel the subscription.

Essentially I'd used my card to purchase a takeaway for us both and she then used that card to pay for her prescriptions.

I think she's behind it all too. She's just so insane that it's concerning.

Cancel your card, and report it to your bank and to the police if you haven’t already.
