WWYD... severe stomach issues

3 weeks ago out of the blue... driving to work, I had the weirdest discomfort in my upper abdomen and chest, with pain going into my shoulder. I genuinely worried I was going to have a heart attack, but thankfully nothing happened.
But the pressure and discomfort and wierd sensation in my gut didn't ease. So I went to the docs two days later (miracle!) and doc diagnosed gastritis and put me on Lansoprazole.
It hasn't helped. The discomfort has got worse.. I feel bloated and sore with pain under my ribs on the left (so I don't think gallbladder) and every time I eat I am either sick or feel sick..best I can do is graze on small snacks. I feel gnawingly hungry and full at the same time. I'm losing weight (and am quite slim anyway)

I don't want to be a nuisance, but I'm a (usually) healthy, mid fifties, active person with no health anxiety , and I'm a bit scared. I can't eat, I'm in pain .
Do I go back already? I've cut my coffee right down in case it's an irritant but nothing is helping. I'm too busy to be sick!

Could be lots of things but you need a check up. You might be busy but I'll remind you of the saying that if you don't make time for your health now, you'll have to make time for your sickness later.

You need a gastroscopy.
