Help, please - sore boob. Worried.

I'm almost 47 and haven't had a period for 6 months. Probably going through menopause as have had other symptoms - dry, itchy skin; acne; joint pain; bloating, etc. Today I've realised my right boob feels bruised. There's a patch of skin about 3cm by 2cm across that hurts if I touch it. Noticed when I put my car seat belt on. It's not red or bruised and there's no lump. It feels like when I burst a vein in my leg - sensitive, achy and sore. Any thoughts? Advice? Has anyone experienced something similar? Going to try get a GP appointment on Monday but am going to worry insanely until then.

If it helps: A doctor told me once that really bad stuff is very rarely sore. Fingers crossed for you, and please come back and tell us what it was.

Breast pain is very common. It's usually nothing. Get it checked if you need reassurance.

Any chance you knocked it and forgot? I've done that before.

I had a rough, lumpy patch under my right breast a few years ago, same age as you are now. My GP referred me for investigation and I was seen two weeks later. The scans showed nothing abnormal. Everyone was very kind and helpful during the tests.

Hoping you get seen quickly and everything is OK for you Flowers

Get it checked. Ask to be referred to the breast clinic. I had breast cancer and it did hurt. The sooner you get it checked out, the sooner you can hopefully put it behind you. Most breast issues are benign but it's important that you have changes checked that are different for you. Good luck!

When I had shingles it felt like that before the rash came out.

Don't suppose you have had a new bra have you?

I have an area of my breast that hurts when I press it. I had an ultrasound and it showed thickened tissue, biopsy was normal though.

Thank you everyone. I shall go to doctor Monday. I'll post an update. X
