I wfh. I finish at 5pm.

What time would you crack open a bottle?

I somehow feel that anything before 8pm is a bit too early.

Sometimes I have a glass of wine in the garden on an early afternoon while the kids are in school. It's bliss. A hour to just sit and unwind surrounded by the carrots and Strawberries 😅

This was also once the subject of a Mumsnet thread.

There were accusations of 'breathing alcohol all over the teachers' at pick up time 🤣🤣

Whenever you fancy. One of the advantages of being an adult 😀.
Ignore anyone who judges you, and enjoy. We only live once.

Oh I love this- I wish you were my neighbour 🤣✔️

I'm an early wino - much prefer to have one 5-7pm, then have food. That way I have time to chill, and can sleep well rather than have alcohol in my system too early and for too long.

Depends on how often you are drinking! Friday night it's fine straight away but not if you are drinking Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday!

Why do you have to wait until later if you’ve had a glass of wine on Mon, Tues, Weds and Thursday?

Surely it doesn’t matter if it’s a glass daily at 5pm or 8pm?

And as others have pointed out, the earlier you have a drink the less likely the alcohol is to interfere with sleep, so it’s better to drink early if you are going to drink anyway!

I opened it about 8. It was only low alcohol wine and that's me done until Christmas I think.

Whatever suits you is my motto, personally, I have a glass every night weekdays and as much as I feel like on a weekend. I've reached the age when I can please myself and not worry about what others think.
I especially enjoy a glass of decent champagne 😃

It’s the summer holidays and the kids are off school and I caught myself eyeing up a bottle of wine at 9am earlier this week.

I don’t normally drink, but I think any time after 11am is acceptable.

LoobyDoop2 · 27/07/2024 18:30

Monday to Thursday I don’t drink at all, but 5:01 pm on Friday.
