Cape Town - cities with similar natural beauty

I would love to have gone and see all the natural beauty but yes the crime stats terrify me.

Can anyone recommend any better and safer cities in the world that have outstanding natural beauty?

My mind draws to Sydney

Cape town is fine.

It's like any other big city - just be sensible. Stick to main tourist areas. Avoid going to unknown areas and don't go out after dark ( As in wandering around as opposed to get a cab from the hotel to a known restaurant and back again).

This is making me feel better. I think I want to take a trip there now

We went to Cape Town last summer. Took Ubers everywhere and it was fine.

We were there this Easter with DC aged 11 and 13. Had a fantastic time. They had a surf lesson on Easter Sunday, we took the cable car up Table Mountain, ate gorgeous seafood, stunning walks beaches and dear god, the wine! We hired a car and took Uber if we planned to drink. No problems at all. I did get a dodgy tummy and can vouch that the public facilities are pristine
