It's time for the Olympic Games for the Playmobil people in our house...

... and so each day I'll be bringing you all the action. Today is the opening ceremony. There is plenty of entertainment. Here is the King's Drum and Bugle Band, led by Drum Major Jermaine Jacobs.

...and people start to disembark.

They are all excited for today's sports.

In the catamaran class Gregor and Kirsty are just ahead of Petroc and Morwenna.

Next there is rowing. In the pairs kayak race Benjamin and Louisa are racing against Arfon and Alaw.

Competing in the men's single kayak race are Mungo, Arfon, Rio and Benjamin.

Benjamin takes an early lead...

...but in the end it's gold for Mungo, silver for Rio and bronze for Benjamin!

In the women's race Kylie, Louisa, Margaret and Alaw are taking part.

Kylie is ahead at the moment...

...and she retains her lead to win gold, with Louisa winning silver and Alaw bronze.

Grant is busy serving in the café. Shon and Dugald buy glasses of wine.

Catriona and Cailean enjoy ice creams while Alban has a nice cold beer.

Reginald is buying chips.

He takes them over to Joan. But oh dear - the seagulls have arrived! I hope you've all enjoyed today's coverage.

Brilliant, so much better than the real thing.. I was a bit on the edge of my seat in the pairs rowing there but a great result ....
Might be a bit early for a restorative blue wine though.... Ill take tea..

I'm so glad Mungo won. It's the name of my childhood cat.

And I love the seagulls. Despite real seagulls waking me up every morning with a display of "choral squawking" I have a certain fondness for them.

Playmo Games are so much kinder than the real thing.
