... and so each day I'll be bringing you all the action. Today is the opening ceremony. There is plenty of entertainment. Here is the King's Drum and Bugle Band, led by Drum Major Jermaine Jacobs.

Giovanni is at the beach with his ice cream cart.

Tamsin buys a strawberry cone.

Julia prefers a choc ice.

Alwyn is buying ice creams for his family.

Apollo is very interested in the chocolate cone.

"No!" shouts Alwyn, and snatches the ice cream out of reach. "Chocolate is bad for dogs!"

Alaw is the first competitor in the women's event.

She is followed by Margaret.

Next is Jaime.

She is putting in an excellent performance.

And a great finish!

Fiona is next...

...followed by Rhianedd.

She is looking pretty confident.

Last up is Amber.

She is in great form!

That was an impressive performance!

On the podium today for the men's event are Jonty (gold), Rex (silver) and Glen (bronze).

And in the women's event Jaime takes gold, Amber silver and Rhianedd bronze.
