Guinea pig camping

Has anyone ever taken a guinea pig camping? We are going away in our caravan tomorrow for three nights and tonight discovered our guinea pig had an injured paw. He can't be left alone. Our neighbor was going to check on him. One option is to take him with this is this mad? He would have to sleep in the awning I'd be a bit worried about him.

Does anyone take their guinea pig on holiday?

Could the vets look after him? Or a vet nurse who boards small pets?

I wouldn't, mainly due to the risk of overheating in the awning during the day, once the sun shines on it, plus how on earth can you ensure he has all the space he needs to live comfortably? They dislike travel too. Presumably you'd be splitting him up from his companion(s)? They should not live alone. Re-introduction could be tricky on your return. Have you tried a pet sitter? Poor little soul.

Hopefully you decided not to OP?

Where does he usually live? If it's indoors then no reason he can't be in the caravan. If he lives outdoors then so long as you have room to take his hutch, no problem
