Isn't it lovely when people surprise you?

I'm fortunate to have a close group of friends and quite a few others, who I know through various hobby groups.

I have a milestone event coming up. It's something I can mark on my own, but also would be nice to mark with friends. I put out a general "this is happening, if anyone wants to come, I'll make cake"

So far, my adult son, who has no interest in the thing, has said he'll come.

A friend who originally said he couldn't because he's working, has changed his shift so he can.

A friend who always works the day it's on has taken a day's leave to attend

An aquaintance through the hobby group has offered to make cake.

A friend who's very into the thing, but lives long way away has promised to be there.

Feeling loved 😊

That's lovely, and is no doubt a reflection on how much they love you.
