Had to leave work early today as had upset tummy and an onset of bouts of explosive diarrhoea (sorry 🙁)
A colleague whose child had a stomach bug called in sick recently because of contagion fears (48 hours) but our line manager called her up and demanded she come in anyway.
Guess what….a steady stream of people now with the same symptoms.
I won’t be paid either.

Stressed as we desperately need a home move. Could take a long time. Also have toothache! I hope you’re feeling better soon.

I've missed two days of work due to unknown cause of my sons high fever. He was meant to be at nursery tomorrow but of course can't so I'm paying a friend to look after him. Literally going to work and not making money. Have to go, I was recently off with covid and a few weeks back with sickness and Diarrhoea.

Just when you think everything is going okay

I just miss my gran terribly today. Have days like this and my closest friend has gone away today (so happy for her -of course, I am going too but not for 2 weeks). Gran died last year and family dynamics haven’t been brilliant since. Well they weren’t before. But I always end up feeling like bad cop as I actually say something.

Not tensions as much. It’s me really. I can’t get over how battered and tired I and my mum are after having all the work dumped on us while the rest of the family carried on living the high life. My friend acknowledges how hurt I am rather than makes me feel worse for it.

After eleven weeks, we’ve found out that the people who wanted to buy our house have lied to us and aren’t in a position to do so. We’ve lost the one we were going to buy.

That sounds really tough, I have been in a similar situation once and was left physically and mentally in tatters. It sounds like you have a great friend. I hope you manage to have a proper well-deserved rest in a couple of weeks 💜

My autistic DS has been having meltdowns for days because he hates the transition from school to summer holidays.

On a lighter note ( tho definitely on the theme of shitty), took the cat to the vet for routine checkup today, and half way there in the car, he pooed in the carry case . That was fragrant 🤢.

I’ve had d&v for two weeks, Op.
In that time I’ve seen or spoke to four GPs and a 111 doctor.
I self certified for a week and got signed off for a further week yesterday - I’m a GP receptionist so they don’t want the patients or the team going down with it.
The GP I saw yesterday was muttering about me possibly having to go to hospital for IV fluids as I’d had six bouts of diarrhoea by early afternoon. Today has only been two.
Young adult dd had it first and I was annoyed at her for throwing up over the living room floor until two days later I developed it and even though I got to the bathroom, couldn’t get my head over the toilet in time.
I’ve hardly eaten so losing weight would have been a silver lining but sadly have only lost 1-2lbs.

That is a very long time to have it… horrendous.
What have the GPS said? Perhaps the IV drip might be a good idea as you must have lost a lot of essential electrolytes etc. How long did it take for your DD to recover?

Yes I had an episode earlier, ongoing problem. Drinking fluids and heat pack on stomach.

Results of the sample came back clear. I only had two bouts yesterday compared to six the previous day. I’ll see how it goes over the weekend and they’ve said they can do further testing if necessary.
