Have Covid for the second time and I’ve completely lost my smell and taste AGAIN 😭

As the title says really… Covid has hit me again like a train and it’s taken away my taste and smell.

It’s really horrible not being able to taste or smell anything.

It took me just over a week to get it back last time, hope it’s the same again.

Any advice on what to eat??

Oh no you poor thing. Luckily I've never lost either with covid (had in June there), but I lived on soup and bread to dip in.. Oh and beans on toast

I only lost mine for 4 days a few weeks ago. Came back much quicker this time. Last time was about 2 weeks!

It’s really distressing isn’t it @Eart ! I had a bit of smell remaining last night but now there’s nothing and I feel like 💩 today

Lost mine for a few days when I had it a couple of years ago. It gave me a chance to eat healthy as nothing was satisfying anyway!

I had it for the 2nd time recently (no idea why I tested, but anyway).

It was super mild this time again but my taste and smell went as it had back in 2021, but it came back really quickly - within a week. It was great for a bit of weight loss!

I actually think I feel worse now than I did when I had it for the first time last year!

I totally lost my sense of smell with Covid in 2020 and it only partially came back. I suspect I've had Covid again this year and sense of smell has diminished. It is annoying as I used to have a very acute sense of smell and now only pick up certain / strong scents.
I believe you can do scent retraining but haven't explored this yet

Oh no! Ugh I feel your pain. I lost it for almost 2 weeks when I had it, it sucked!! I just kept eating dairylea for some reason though...

Yeah my second time of going through this no taste and smell. I just panic it’ll never come back and then feel really depressed ! On top of already feeling like crap

Okay so I think some of it has come back but not all… this is normal right??
