Local population information by nationality?

Is there any way I can find out how many people from a certain country reside in my area?

I doubt it.

Maybe the Census?

Yeah, the Census results. I've managed to find National Identity in my London borough from the 2011 Census. Don't know if 2021 data has been released yet.

That's for England and Wales. Don't know where Scotland and NI publish their results.

Why not? Seems like an important piece of information for service provision etc.

You can do it by street on the streetcheck website - it’s one of the options I think under the ‘people’ tab.

The ONS has an interactive tool on the 2021 census data. All sorts of fascinating information.

I just checked and it’s under the ‘culture’ tab, not ‘people’.

Thank you so much. I'm working with a family who speak little English and trying to find people from their country for them to befriend.

How would knowing the number of people help you with that?
Would it not be better to ask locally to see if there was anyone who spoke the language who was willing to befriend them?
