‘Mister God, This is Anna’ by Fynn (real name Sydney George Hopkins)

I have never yet come across anyone else who has read this (and it’s sequel ‘Anna and The Black Knight’)

What books do you own that seemingly only you have read?
I would love to discover new (to me!) books!

Pic attached of said books.
I've had them for over 20+ years.

ETA - came across them in a charity shop 🤗

Hello… anyone out there? 😂

Haven't read those!

A very obscure book I have read is 'The Rescue of Rosemary' by Pamela Wynne, which my dad got in a job lot of books he bought because some of them had rare cover art (not that one). He gave me those he didn't want, and that one stuck in my mind because it was absolutely the most ridiculously snobbish book I had ever read, with a totally bonkers plot involving a young woman being kidnapped by the son of the German bomber who'd bombed her father During The War, and wild enthusiasm for smoking cigarettes as a way for alcoholics to overcome cravings for drink.

I had read the first one when I was pre-teen but wasn't aware that there was a sequel.

slavetothekittens · 25/07/2024 19:17

I've read the first one, didn't know about the second book, might have to track that down.

endofthecorridoor · 25/07/2024 19:26

Never heard of either of them. Would you recommend the ?

I read a book called one hand clapping when I was in my early 20, s I looked for it last week and it's not even available on kindle

There is a famous book of the same name but it's not that one

butmumineedit · 25/07/2024 19:33

Have read the first book several times , didn't know about the 2nd one , busy trying to find it now .

IntelligentInputDarling · 25/07/2024 19:43

@endofthecorridoor Yes I would, especially the first. It’s one of those books you can pick up throughout various stages of your life and find something else in it you’d missed the first/second/third reading.
I read it for the time in my early 20s and have reread every couple of years since (am in my 50s now)
As I said in my OP, I hadn’t come across anyone who had read it but glad to see a few on here who have 😊

I haven’t heard of your book, or @Sethera so nice to find some new reading material!
