What would be the reason we lost some TV channels on one room only?!

We suddenly lost a whole heap of channels the other day and have only just started getting round to investigating.
It's not the aerial because we get all the channels on the other two TVs.
We took a different TV and tried it in the living room and sure enough, it also lost the channels....so what's causing that?! The cable?

I'd try re-tuning it. We have 1 TV in the house which needs to be re-tuned often, but no idea why the other doesn't?

Have tried returning 10+ times. Husband went to the attic and tried different stuff with the aerial and I returned but it only finds 15 channels. However I'm the other room it's a lot more

One aerial connected to many wall sockets? If so, it sounds like a mouse enjoyed a nibble on the cable.

Wondered that! Dh is sad because it's the most difficult cable to replace!

Your sets could be tuned to two different transmitter sites. Each site transmits a different multiplex of channels, some more than others for technical reasons.

They all transmit the main channels, BBC, ITV, CH4 & 5. It will be some of the minor channels that will be missing. Try tuning those sets again and see if they can pick up the other multiplex. The aerial may have to be moved again

No it's BBC 1 and 2 missing! They are all set to the same transmitter

Its usually cable damage due to water ingress that causes some channels to disappear, or a very weak aerial signal. However assuming a loft aerial so no water involved, and the same aerial feeding 3 tvs, then youd expect a problem with the cable feeding that tv. Can you try swapping the cable terminations into the aerial to confirm that?

That's not the usual problem then.
Is it only channels missing? Which transmitter are you receiving?

Only BBC missing?
