Is there a world walnut crisis???

Been into my local Lidl 3 x this week looking for walnuts. They are normally near the pay place as you queue to pay. All the other nuts are there. I know other nuts are available but damn!

Loads in Aldi this morning.

This happens in my Lidl too, then they have a promotion with the 500g bags for £3.50. I think it's just the way they manage their stock.

I struggled to find pickled walnuts at Christmas time. Its tradition that we have a pickled walnut or two with our Christmas dinner and I couldn't find them for love nor money.

There is a shortage due to a poor harvest I read somewhere just before Xmas.
