Wanted to start a thread on what’s going well in a world of doom and gloom.

I’ll go first, I was a stay at home mum then I started working evenings, I got my son into a great pre school a couple of mornings a week, they didn’t have 30 hours available and I couldn’t really afford this due to the extra fees they had anyway.

I got a second job yesterday, it’s in the morning (only 2 hours mon-fri & 5 minute walk away) to top up my salary so I can hopefully get my toddler in nursery a couple of more mornings.

my partner works close to home and comes home for lunch everyday and our toddlers nursery is close to home and both of our works.
so we all get chance to see each other throughout the day, and we all have weekends off.

im only a cleaner but its easy work as both jobs I work when the staff aren’t in and never have to deal with customers 😂
i am always applying for flexible work with potential to train because it isn’t forever for me but im so happy with our situation because it’s hard when they’re young but it works so well for us.

My DD laughs and jokes again. We lost that for 3 years.

I'm happy our teen boys think Andrew Tate and all similar ideas are poison.

I've realised that so many people would love to have what I have so I'm happy about everything and try not to take it for granted.

E.g. MIL has kidney failure and you wouldn't believe all the knock on effects...I'm happy I have functioning kidneys and hormones etc!

Our neighbor is deaf...happy I can hear.

A friend lost her sense of taste after covid...seems relatively minor but you don’t realise what you gave got until you have lost it.

An old friends daughter died on holidays 😢 Another lost her husband. Another has a child who is bed bound.

So grateful to have my family and our health.

Happy to have peace in this country and not be trying to live in a war zone.

Etc etc..honestly so much that we have, some people can only dream about

I am healthy,
I am wealthy,
I look and feel great,
I have a beautiful home,
I have a wonderful partner,
I have hobbies that I love,
I have an easy, flexible and incredibly well-paid job.

I am happy about everything in my life at the moment and I only see things getting better.

Andnowshesatoddler · 24/07/2024 11:45

I am going through a lot personally and I can say -

  • I have a wonderful husband
  • for once in my life wonderful supportive friends who truly have my back and will help me. I never really had that group of friends before.
  • I have a wonderful daughter
  • I have a supportive work place which is essential for me as my health is in the pits.
  • I have no financial worries
  • I have things to look forward to
  • I have a good life.

Please don't say "I'm only a cleaner" it's a job that many people cannot do.
My children make me happy, the way the look over to me and give me a big grin.
My husband is making an effort which is unusual but lovely.
My mum said sorry to me, that made me happy as she has never done that before
My 2 Newfies make me happy they are the best dogs despite slobber and hair.
My home , dh designed it and we are right by the beach.
There is stuff that doesn't make me happy but we are so fortunate .

It puts it into perspective doesn’t it, sometimes you stress on the small things only to realise you have a family, your health, a place to call home when it boils down to it that’s true wealth/happiness 🙌

It’s so lovely hearing so many of you doing well, I know in this world it’s often easy to compare or not actually see what others have gone through but I honestly believe gratitude gets you so far in life!

& having a positive thread on here even if it’s being proud of little things

Currently away on a little break with my fab family. Not far, not expensive but we're having a lovely time and have totally lucked out with the weather. Happy days!

I'm home from a lengthy hospital stay and being in my own bed in my lovely house feels priceless.
