Any ideas?
Age 4 and 7.
My children want a train adventure so I thought of going to Manchester but not sure what we do when they get there 🙈

A train adventure?

Oh! You mean the journey there?

Manchester has some excellent entertainment for children.

In the city centre:

Museum of Science and Industry ***

Manchester Art Gallery (includes a dedicated children’s floor with interactive stuff).

The Whitworth Gallery

The National Football Museum

Manchester Museum - full of wonders.

Take the tram (great fun for littles) to Salford Quays. Walk along the canal side (where there will probably be water sports to observe) to:

Imperial War Museum North - so much to engage with.

See if there’s a show on at:

The Lowry

Or something child friendly going on at:

Media City

In addition there's a proper steam train adventure available from Bury Train Station. Google and book in advance.

(In truth I’d say Liverpool has more - but I guess eventually you’ll do both.)

The mayfield depot play park is the newest outdoor urban park created and brilliant
Take a picnic and have it on the grass around it of looking to save £ and if not head into mayfield depot "freight island" for food

As above, museum of science and industry
Football museum
Peoples history museum near spinning fields

Whitworth art gallery

The roman ruins at Castlefield and that's near museum of science and industry

I'll dig around see what else I can find going on over summer (manchester local here)

All the above plus the Lego shop in the Arndale

Oh, is the Lego shop still there?

Hours of fun! Grin
