Dead IPOD

It might be a daft question but is there anyway I can bring my IPOD back from the dead? Like a new battery? Yes I know I can buy a new one but seems a waste and it was originally my mum's.

It totally depends what's wrong with it. Guessing you've tried charging and powering it on and it's not powering up?

What kind of iPod is it?

Errr not sure just the basic old model. It was mum's before she died so sentimental I guess!

I cannot post the picture but it is the classic one

I have that one. Is it totally dead, doesn't charge up at all?

Try plugging it in and resetting it, just in case that sparks it into life. Will find a link.

Mine has seemed to die a few times, but this has saved it. Sometimes it takes a few tries.

There's a fairly big community that modifies and resuscitates old iPods - particularly the classic models as they gave you a lot of storage space for your music. They were also a fairly hefty chunk of metal so pretty damned durable as well (mine is still going strong in my car).
