With a rash and a fever?

Slapped cheek has been doing the rounds at our primary school.

LiterallyOnFire · 23/07/2024 21:11

The rash is pale pink (on light skin) and sort of 'under the skin'. Rough.

Oh is it? Oh wow. There's a blast from the past. That lasts a few days doesn't it?

Children or adults?

Children or adults?

Adults. The school age one is the only family member who seems symptom free so far.

Covid is going round our area at the moment DH has got it and a lot of his colleagues have/have had it. I've not had it again yet.

Also, chicken pox. DS (10)s friend has just come down with it.

LiterallyOnFire · 23/07/2024 21:49

At least we are safe on the chicken pox front, I think. The rash doesn't look like pox anyway.

Everyone just keeps waking up for paracetamol and immediately dozing back off.

Similar in my household, extreme fatigue and upset stomachs. No rashes though. Negative for Covid

Kelly51 · 23/07/2024 22:29

My DDs boyfriend who is 21 has just had whooping cough, not heard of anyone having it in forever.

RoseAndRose · 23/07/2024 22:42

Covid can cause rashes.

And there's a big wave right now

We've had scarlet fever at our school. That's a rough rash I think

JenniferBooth · 23/07/2024 22:49

A headache and a sore throat like razor blades

LiterallyOnFire · 23/07/2024 23:04

Hmm. No coughs or sore throats here (yet 🤞🏻).

Scarlet fever sounds like a worry.

It's not a very healthy summer, by the sounds of it. Lots of viruses doing the rounds.

Initially caused by heat stress in my case

longdistanceclaraclara · 23/07/2024 23:26

Sandpaper rash is indicative of scarlet fever
