Where can I get school trousers from for small child?!

My ds who is 3 and half is starting preschool nursery in September but he's tiny for his age. I just came back from Tesco with age 3-4 trousers and they're huge on him and don't do 2-3y, least they didn't have them there anyway.
Can anyone recommend somewhere I can get age 3 instead of 3-4 maybe or in a 'short' style for my boy please? Thank you

We get all our uniform from Next and ds had size 3 years trousers to start. I don’t know how they compare to a 3-4 years, but the waist is adjustable and the legs can be hemmed.

John Lewis.

All the supermarkets seem to sell school trousers, school shorts, school jogging bottoms and skirts for massive children. What I mean is even if they are the right length the waists are massive even when adjusted to be at the smallest waist.

Asda definitely had some age 2-3 ones with elasticated waists the other day.

Marks and Spencer have ages 2-3, they last well too.

Marks and Spencer’s do 2-3 in a 2 pack I bought for mine!

M&S do great ones for smaller kids, they have adjustable buttons on elastic inside and an extra hem to let down for when they grow.
I found the supermarket ones far too big for DS too.

I was going to say places like Next and M&S definitely to smart trousers for younger ages. They might not be 'school' trousers or be priced as cheap as the supermarket ones. But they'd do the job.

At nursery/preschool age though I can't see the school being too fussy if he went in joggers with the polo shirt.

Marks and Spencer slim fit

I'd say most places but I've just worked a term in a school nursery with 3-4 year olds and I can't stress too much how important it is that they can get their trousers up and down without help. Quite a few children wear treggings. I think they are from H&M.
