A very good looking man has sent me a friend request on FB

I don't know who he is, he only has 2 friends, so I assume it's all fake. Obviously the picture isn't real, but is it likely to be a real person behind the account or a bot?

What's the scam? What are they hoping to get from me?

The one that pissed me off was the arse who copied the pic and name from my husband's memorialised account.

Their English obviously wasn't very good - they sent friend requests to several of our pals and (I can't remember exactly what was said now) but sent Messenger messages as if they were women. DH had a very obviously masculine forename. They were obviously confused by the profile pic showing DH posing with 40 yr old me.

I sent them a message with quite a lot of sweary words. To this day, I'm not sure whether they deleted the account or whether FB did it for them - I did report it to FB.

When I check in on this thread in the morning, I expect to read that OP and everyone else on here has managed to secure themselves a stunningly handsome millionaire.

I get loads of these on my current profile pic as it's just me but when I change my profile to em and the kids , or me and DH they magically stop.
I did get a request to be someone's sugar baby for $6k a month that I was sorely tempted to take them up on 🤣🤣

Probably too late for this but don't add him, even for a laugh. He'll have access to your friend list, start targeting them. If anyone thinks to check, they'll go 'oh we have a mutual friend, it must be legit' and on he goes.
