A place that makes you happy...

Just the thought of Playa Blanca in Lanzarote makes me happy. I love how quiet it is. I love that there are no drunks walking around at night. I love the red mountain views all around. I love the restaurants by the beach and a lovely little breakfast place called grand cappuccino which serves the best pastries and fresh orange juice I've ever had. I'm only in my early 20's and wanted to travel the world but for some reason me and DH always find ourselves back to booking this place.

What's your happy place?

By the sea, preferably a beach with not many other people. Also the British countryside.

My happy place is a beach in the Caribbean that DH and I went to 20 years ago, we just bobbed about in the water and did a bit of snorkelling. But it was so calm and peaceful. I go back to that sensation of bobbing about when I need to have a quiet moment.

We've been to lots of places and rarely do a beach holiday - but for some reason that memory just makes me calm.

In real life we go back to a particular glen with a river 3 or 4 times a week as our dog loves it and you never see her so happy as when she's there with a stick tearing round. It's a 10 minute drive from our house and the most happiness per mile you could ever get.
