Have you got an airfryer?

I've been sucked in with the reels on Insta, the food always looks quick and amazing.

It would be a sacrifice to find thr space for one, so I'm torn. Do you have one? Is it a fad or do you use it regularly? Any particular recommendations?

I bought the Instant Pot. A single draw fairly compact unit. I really didn't want one in my kitchen. I spent soooo much time designing my ultimate cooking setup and our kitchen is a living area so I don't want lots of things out.

We got it for going camping. I tried it out at home to cook some frozen chips (just two adults at home) and DH was exceptionally pleased with them so after that camping trip I have used it. I get it in and out of the cupboard as needed.

It's easy to wash up, can go in the dishwasher but I haven't bothered. I cooked a small/medium chick ok, did hams, but mainly I used it for sausages, chicken bits, small fried food, it's the speed of cooking that I've found useful. I'm quite often knackered by 5pm and it's speeded up cooking some days mainly because it heats up so quickly.

If you are cooking the same thing for a whole family, then it's a bit of a toy.

Cooking from scratch for one or at a pinch two people, ours is in use most days for lamb chops, steaks, burgers plus roasted veg. Pretty much any kind of veg, with special mention for cabbage, Brussel sprouts and fennel. Oh, and bacon / lardons.

Ninja Dual in our household. Apart from actual salad I can't really think of much I want to eat that I can't cook a one person portion in the air fryer. Even salad tastes better with a scattering of fennel roasted in ten minutes.

We use the hob alot for things like spaghetti bol, chilli, fajita, paella, steam veg so that doesn't take very long. I can see it might be useful for lunch for one but I don't think we eat what other people seem to be cooking in them. Our jacket potato's go in the combi micro oven and take 25 mins so alot quicker than the air fryer it seems. I'm still not sold 🤔

It's just a small oven. You already have a small oven.

then perhaps it's not for you which is fair enough.

I also use the hob for most things, which is why I like it because it always annoyed me going through the faff of turning on the oven for that one small thing. Yesterday DD decided she'd quite like a baguette for lunch and so I put one in the air fryer and five minutes later it was nicely ready and she was eating her baguette 5 minutes later after it cooled down a bit. That simply wouldn't have happened if I'd had to spend 25 minutes to get a baguette ready in the regular oven. I like that convenience.

We haven’t got one but after using my sister’s and mum’s I can’t really see how getting one will improve my life. Most of our cooking is on the hob or under the grill and we already have a fancy combination microwave that can do everything else.

We haven't bothered despite being told by everyone we know that we need one! I think they are big and ugly 🤣 plus we spend a lot on bosch ovens and hob so we just use those. We don't really fry anything and when I've asked people what they cook it in, all I've been told is things that are junk upf that we don't eat but also following with interest to see what people cook! Maybe I'm wrong 🤷‍♀️

I have an air fryer and now only use my oven to bake cookies or the occasional frozen pizza

We don't eat UPF food so I cook meat, veg, pretty much everything in there!

It's brilliant and makes meat, chicken, fish so tender. And it keeps cooking smells down - ie if I cook a steak in there you hardly notice but do it in a pan and the whole house stinks!

Really good for things like roast potatoes or chips too.
