I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day before I get dressed to head out for breakfast. I'm really hungry but, if I eat some of the breakfast I brought, I'll not eat a cooked breakfast 😥. When I've had my brew I'll hurry the girls up a bit - they're lolling about in bed, they don't seem to get to the point of so hungry I feel sick - just me.

We haven't really got much of a plan today. Dd2 wants to nip back to the market for a bracelet she saw yesterday, for her friend, and I want one of the many rock shops to get some sweets for us, and to thank my friend who is kitten sitting.

We'll probably spend some time on the beach again, although it's cooler atm, and have a few drinks in the sunshie.

Later on we'll nip back to the caravan for showers and to pack the majority of our things 😥 before finding somewhere to have tea, last night we had chippy 😋.

What about all of you? 🌞

Good morning @Lucysmam and others. That sounds like a nice day ahead. I have had two coffees and toast. I'm about to make peanut butter cookies for my Dgs1 and then I'll look after dgs2 for a bit while his brother goes to a party. Later I'll visit mum in hospital. A quiet day. Enjoy your day!

FlorencenotRatchet · 21/07/2024 08:54

Morning @lucysmam and all. Happy Sunday.
Just lounging at the moment reading my book but will get up soon and get some breakfast. Beds need changing and some washing putting on.
Need to collect an online order from boots then off to the cinema.
Tonight need to pack for trip to the lakes later this week. Having Gyros and salad for dinner.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Crunchymum · 21/07/2024 08:55

Enjoy the last day of your break lucysmam

Another day of containment for us.

DC3 succumbed to Noro that has hit our school so we're indoors today.

Praying DC1 and DC2 don't get it. It was fast passing so that was something at least.

Lots of washing to be done and I'm going scrub bathrooms again etc. Illness spurs me on the clean all those things I rarely do (light switches, door handles, remotes and devices will all get a good going over with my hospital grade spray 😂)

I've got a hacking cough myself so we're better off indoors!!

Older two can head to local park for an hour, they are allowed to do this now (park is about 40 seconds away!) and I have shopping being delivered soon.

Will do something simple for dinner - meatballs, homemade sauce and spaghetti. Poorly child will make do with toast and juice until she is feeling better.

WahWahWahs · 21/07/2024 08:57

Likewise just having my first cup of tea before the rest of the house awakens (late night last night!). My youngest DD is watching CBeebies with me.

I will then clear all the wine bottles and the carnage of toys and dens the kids made whilst the aforementioned wine was being consumed by all the adults.

Then off on holidays this afternoon for a much, much needed break.

Enjoy your cooked breakfast!

CoffeandTiaMaria · 21/07/2024 09:07

Good morning everyone, the sun’s just coming out here. The DGCs have gone to our little park, DS and DDIL are trying to plan a train journey in Europe, I have no idea what DH is doing. I’m enjoying a coffee.
Nothing in particular planned for today, DS will be heading home later.

troppibambini6 · 21/07/2024 09:10

Your break in Skegness sounds lovely and definitely hurry those girls a long Grin I totally understand that hungry sick feeling.

I'm just drinking my first coffee and croissants are in the airfrier. Dds both still asleep and two ds are watching cobra Kai.

I need to dismantle a wood shed and set of shelves to go in the skip as I didn't do it yesterday.

Dd has a netball final this afternoon so you going to watch that later maybe a roast for dinner but not sure yet.

mondaytosunday · 21/07/2024 09:13

Morning. I'll get up soon to walk dogs and pop in to the local Sainsbury's to get some milk and sausages as I have not forgotten today (which I did yesterday) that I'm supposed to have breakfast/brunch with DD. Then frankly the house is a mess - can I motivate myself to finally empty my suitcase from our trip and get the vacuum out? We shall see. Garden defo needs watering though, a chore I have put off too long.
I can hear my neighbours out front - they have young kids and how I remember those days of up before 7am no matter what day it was and getting active with them! No lounging around in pjs for a relaxing Sunday morning!

Justonedayatatime11 · 21/07/2024 09:24

Morning @lucysmam.

Laying in bed wishing my 3 day migraine would go away. DH has just gone down to make a cup of tea, DD is stropping around because it's been too hot she hasn't been able to sleep.

My dad is coming for lunch today, it'll be steak, chips, mushrooms, tomatoes and asparagus followed by Eton mess. Much easier than a roast.

Hoping for a mostly lazy day, and an early night as it's meant to be a bit cooler and more conducive to sleeping!

Brandnewskytohangyourstarsupon · 21/07/2024 09:34

Sitting in my conservatory with a coffee.

its warm, silent and sunny but huge dark black skies on the horizon.

I have made my list of stuff to do today, mostly cleaning, laundry, meal planning for the week and gardening.

I will mostly be pottering and floating through this lovely summer Sunday.

Have a most wonderful day today all xx

NextFriYAY · 21/07/2024 09:36

Working (from home) till 5pm. Boo!

RabbitsRock · 21/07/2024 09:39

Morning lucysmam & everyone - missed this thread yesterday as I was doing overtime at work. Just having a cuppa in bed. Got depressed whilst making said cuppa, looking at all the piles of clutter in the kitchen, lounge & hall. No wonder it’s so dusty! I moved several carrier bags of stuff from in front of the wardrobe the other day as DH kept complaining that he couldn’t get into it & that was highly satisfying, especially as I found clothes that I haven’t even tried on yet & a lovely handbag that I bought last summer. Also need to clear the landing, DH’s office & the rest of our room. DH had a go at DD15’s room yesterday. Horrendous! I put a load of washing on when I made the tea & have whites still to do. The weather hasn’t made its’ mind up yet so I may or may not hang it out later. DH is hoping it stays dry as he wants to go for his 3rd bike ride of the week. We were going to have bangers & mash for tea last night but I wasn’t feeling very well so I had tinned soup, which unfortunately wasn’t the best, and DH had beans on toast. We’ll have bangers & mash tonight with peas & sausage gravy. DD is at her GF’s until tomorrow. Started to make plans for a significant birthday (me) next year & a trip abroad for the two of us once DD has left home the year after ( she is ND, potentially has ADHD & is extremely anxious so sadly family holidays have proved very stressful 😢)

Fudgetheparrot · 21/07/2024 09:42

Dropping DD and her friend at final rehearsal for their dance show then off for a pub lunch with two of my friends. The pub we’re going to is meant to do amazing roast dinners but it’s so not the weather for it so not sure what I’ll have! DH working tonight so I’ll be watching Love Island once the kids are in bed

RabbitsRock · 21/07/2024 09:44

Ooh yes - meal plan! I usually do that on Fri or Sat but haven’t got round to it yet.

ShipshapeShore · 21/07/2024 10:35

Going for a walk this morning, we all need the air and exercise! We're going to a lovely independent cafe in town and I'm really looking forward to a nice big coffee.

When we get home I feel like doing a bloody good tidy up 😁 I hate tidying (especially as it seems like shovelling snow in a blizzard in this house) but I just keep looking around thinking "Why is that there?" I feel like a bit more order will be good for my mind.

Roast chicken later. Classic.

lucysmam · 21/07/2024 11:20

@ShipshapeShore I'm ignoring the fact that my house is a pigsty, while we're here. We're half way through decorating dd2's room and there is stuff everywhere! It needs a really good clean and tidy 🙈

Morning @lucysmam and everyone. DD left yesterday for a week in France with her Dad. Missing her loads but trying to make the most of the break so had a rare lie in followed by a leisurely breakfast. Going to have a long soak in the bath and do hair mask/face mask etc. Then meeting a friend for lunch at a lovely cafe/farm shop where I'll probably spend too much money on posh cheese and bread. We might walk lunch off at a country park if we can be bothered. Then home to get ready for the week ahead but at least no school uniforms/bags/lunchboxes to do so should be a bit less manic than usual!

FayKnights · 21/07/2024 13:59

I’m late to the party this weekend!
Skeggie sounds like fun @lucysmam.
Booooo to noroviruses, working and housework, hope everyone is on the mend soon and work days pass quickly.

A bit of a different Sunday for me as I’m currently on a sun bed in scorching hot Cyprus.
its taking us a while to get acclimatised and I am making sure the boys have plenty of suncream and rehydration drinks.
I am missing my dogs terribly though, which I know sounds a bit nuts!

RabbitsRock · 21/07/2024 15:13

Update - instead of bangers & mash, we’re having an indoor BBQ as the salads I bought need using up. The weather’s ok but the BBQ needs replacing.
