Anyone tried CBD oil?

I got the TRIP 300 ml bottle from Boots. Anyone tried this for anxiety, panic attacks and to ease off the general unease that comes with these conditions?

Also is it addictive?

I tried it for fibromyalgia, did nothing for me.
Friend tried it fir pain from osteoporosis, didn’t help her.
Have you tried Rescue Remedy for anxiety?

lawnseed · 20/07/2024 18:57

Nah, didn't help and it tasted foul.

BonifaceBonanza · 20/07/2024 18:57

It’s absolutely non addictive, you can look it up online and be reassured.
CBD works differently for everyone, (details online) to do with neurochemistry, for some no effect for others very effective.
Its certainly taken for anxiety pain mood disorders sleep problems.
What you want to work out is the actual amount in mg per dose in your bottle.
Then take a very small amount as a divided dose 2 or 3 times a day.
Theres a recommended daily max of 10mg in the UK now but I’m pretty sure many don’t stick to this. But start very low and reassess in a few days.
If you get some but not much noticeable enough effect you could try an “entourage” version which includes more chemical components than the isolated cbd (which is supposed to create a “whole is greater than the sum of the parts” effect)

BonifaceBonanza · 20/07/2024 18:58

Also you need a reputable brand as it could contain nothing if not reputable

Grazianoscubanheel · 20/07/2024 18:59

Anything sold by Boots will be overpriced and/or useless so get yourself to somewhere more specialised in this type of drug.

Catsinaflat · 20/07/2024 19:41

I have used in the past from a company called CBD Brothers. They are specialists. I had the Purple oil initially then tried the Green paste which for me was definitely helpful. They sell tiny test bottles so you can try before spending too much. I had it for panic attacks. I am fine now so don't use it though I was on their website the other day and thought I may get some as I am not sleeping well. I wouldn't just buy from anywhere - at the time I researched and they had great reviews.

TheWelshposter · 20/07/2024 20:38

OP I have tried both the Original and Strong Trip CBD oil. I don't notice a difference between the two, but they do calm me down.
I get very anxious/nervous if I'm going on trips, days out, events. A dropper of this and half an hour later I feel calm and chilled. I occasionally take it at night if I am feeling restless and it stops my mind racing at 2am.
It's definitely not addictive as I can go weeks without taking any.

Serencwtch · 20/07/2024 22:07

Did absolutely nothing - did not notice anything at all & I'm really sensitive to drugs eg can't have energy drinks, paracetamol makes me feel sleepy etc
There's very little scientific evidence. I'd say save your money & Bach flower remedy is a much cheaper placebo.

BonifaceBonanza · 20/07/2024 22:13

You wouldn’t really expect paracetamol or energy drinks to be relevant to cbd? The mechanism pathways are totally different.

urbanbuddha · 20/07/2024 22:21

I get the capsules sometimes. I use them as a gentle sleep aid, and they seem to work. I’m not sure they’d work for panic attacks unless you were using them in parallel with controlled breathing or meditation.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 20/07/2024 22:21

I use "love cbd"

They
Definitely help with sleep and
Do calm somewhat.

Ssris are better
Tho

Ah apparently I said a banned word so I'll rephrase - I use 'chewy sweets' called zenbears and also a CBG product from myriams hope. My son also uses zenbears. They make us both calm and more focused.
I wouldn't use a product from boots, the strength is so minimal as to be pointless and the price is inflated.

hoarahloux · 21/07/2024 00:32

I take Trip CBD for anxiety and stress related to work. I think it helps. I know I cannot take it before bed. It makes my mind race, I really struggle to sleep. I take it in the mornings. I started with their 300mg oils and moved up to smaller amounts of their 1000mg oils. The minty one is really pleasant in taste unlike most CBD oils. I do have some of their drinks also but don't tend to reach for them.

WafflesOrIceCream · 21/07/2024 00:54

Oh my god!!

I had it about three years.1st and last time!
I was only suppose to have half a tea spoon and I mixed in water. I felt nice and relaxed after a while until I went to bed.

I woke up scared and started panicking.I called for my DH who came upstairs to me.I started hallucinating and felt so scared to the point that I was clinging on to my DH like a terrified child.

I slept it off after that clinging on to my DH and the next morning even thought I was not having panic attacks, I still didn't feel my normal self.

QueenBitch666 · 21/07/2024 09:50

Yes. Once only. The vile debilitating hang over the next day put me off it for life

CupcakeandCola · 22/07/2024 00:31

I took a few drops today morning- but didn’t feel any different. Thank you for warning not to take it at night. I have the TRIP 300 ml one

@WafflesOrIceCream @QueenBitch666 could I please ask the strength of the oil you consumed? Just want to steer clear of anything which makes me panic… I have enough trouble as it is.

Unfortunately, tried a nutritionist friend's oil - ended up rolling off my bed and breaking my shoulder. May sound amusing but I wasn't laughing.

OliviaFlaversham · 22/07/2024 01:20

Yes Good Rays cbd oil. I love it. Just takes the edge off and helps drop my shoulders a little. Not addictive.

dontcryformeargentina · 22/07/2024 01:30

Tried - zero effect..

Deepest sympathy - a broken shoulder’s no joke.

HoppityBun · 22/07/2024 01:50

It did nothing for me, whatever strength. I took it for pain. Once I felt a bit woozy the next morning but that was all. I tried again last year - same. Very disappointing

Nat6999 · 22/07/2024 02:09

I use CBD gummies & vape CBD vape juice. I have it for pain relief, anxiety, depression & to help me sleep. I have Swiss Peak CBD peach rings 4800mg strength which I normally eat 6 a day & I buy unflavoured 10000mg CBD vape juice that I add to my regular vape juice. You can buy CBD capsules if you prefer to just take it like a tablet.
