It's absolutely pissed it down and soaked my seat cushions on the rattan. I mean drenched ! I've got nowhere to dry them out, and it's still raining 😫😫😫

They'll be fine but will take time to dry out.
Can you remove the covers and dry them separately?

LibertyDuck · 20/07/2024 17:11

Well you should have brought them inside!

TwistedSisters · 20/07/2024 17:12

Not the point but where are you that it's raining?! It's absolutely glorious here in Suffolk....26c with a light breeze and lovely sunshine!

I'll have a guess at Scotland where it's currently bucketing and has been for hours! Not jealous at all of all these photos I'm seeing of people basking in the sun down south 😝

Purplecatshopaholic · 20/07/2024 17:16

I brought mine in earlier, thankfully, it’s chucking it down in Central Scotland now too. They’ll be fine, just need to dry out - garage, spare room?

davegrohhl · 20/07/2024 17:21

I'm in the midlands.
I went for a shower to the helpful poster who said I should've brought them in.

I have got a spare room but they'll soak the carpet so wondering what I could put down on the floor

It's rained in north Manchester.

It rained here in the Midlands too! Totally unexpected, not forecast and I had 2 loads of washing out! Bah!

Roserunner · 20/07/2024 17:25

We're down south and it's raining and miserable here. 10 degrees colder than yesterday!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 20/07/2024 17:25

Prop them up so they drain and leave them, they will dry out soon enough.

FadedRed · 20/07/2024 17:27

My weather app was forecasting rain at 5pm in the Midlands since this morning, and it came pretty much on time. Stopped now. Not any consolation for your ruined cushions though, Op. Hope you can salvage them.

dottydoglover · 20/07/2024 17:27

Same here - also in Midlands! Came back to wet washing on line and wet cushions !

Grazianoscubanheel · 20/07/2024 17:27

First world problems. Think of the boat people.

Ineffable23 · 20/07/2024 17:30

Pop them up vertically once the rain stops so it drains out of them and/or put them in the bath to dry? Even if you can only fit a few of them in, once they're dry you can put them wherever you normally store them when it's wet and bring some more in?

EasterlyDirections · 20/07/2024 17:31

Prop them up with the zip sides at the bottom, the water will drain out and then the covers will dry, this is always happening to ours. We used to rush out and put them away of rain started but don't tend to bother now.

davegrohhl · 20/07/2024 18:19

I've sorted it, got the seat pads in the bath and the back cushions on a yoga mat !! Nightmare !
This is what I mean, It just starts pissing it down all of a sudden, no warning, we have a day or two of sunshine then it chucks it down again. That's the first time I've had the cushions out this year lol

I'm Midlands too it's going to be mostly dry tomorrow

Fullyflavoured · 20/07/2024 18:25

Mine get wet all the time. I've given up bringing them in and just prop them up to dry when it's stopped raining.
