Has anyone got a Balsam Hill Christmas Tree?

Sorry. The C word! Posting here for traffic rather than the Christmas board.

They have a sale on. Christmas in July. Trees look amazing but are expensive. Do you have one and would you recommend. Specifically looking at a slim tree.

I have one that's about five years old (older type where you have to plug the wires for the lights together yourself, don't have to do that anymore!) and I would definitely recommend it. It looks just as good now as it did when I got it, it's barely shed any of the 'needles'. They are expensive, but you're buying a forever product.

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 20/07/2024 16:39

Yes we have one and yes i would recommend.

CelesteCunningham · 20/07/2024 16:43

I have the Silverado slim, I'd say about eight years now, I really like it. We also have a couple of other smaller trees, outdoor trees, garland and wreath and very happy with all of them.

I have one of their cheapest ones and it looks amazing but annoyingly I managed to break two branches off it by bending them in the wrong direction when I was putting it away this year. So if you get one be careful not to do that.

SquigglePigs · 20/07/2024 17:01

We've had ours for about 5 years and it's great. Looks fab!

Bowtiiy · 20/07/2024 17:02

Yes. Worth every penny. It's a beautiful tree.

SphincterSaysWhat · 20/07/2024 17:05

Yes and yes

GradGirl · 20/07/2024 17:05

Yes, I’ve got three, oldest one must be 16 years old minimum. Really recommend them, if you spend time fluffing/arranging the branches they look fabulous.

AgnesX · 20/07/2024 17:06

Thanks for that little heads up, must go and have a nose. Looking for a new slimline tree too 🌲

kdramaqueen · 20/07/2024 17:07

Mine is 7 years old and like new. I invested in the storage bag on wheels when it was on sale, so just now I wheel it in from the garage where it lives and unzip, ready to decorate. Would highly recommend as it is beautiful.

Ithoughtitwasyou · 20/07/2024 17:08

My two neices have bought Balsam Hill trees and I have to say they look stunning.

I freed myself from the tyranny of the tree several years ago (no little kids anymore) but bought a BH garland for my fireplace.
It was expensive but because it is good quality it looks brand new.
So yes they are worth it.

LoudSnoringDog · 20/07/2024 17:09

Yes. I got mine in their sale in 2016. It's still in fabulous condition

circular2478 · 20/07/2024 17:17

I have one. It's fab. Can't remember the exact kind but it's 7ft.

aliciagardner · 20/07/2024 17:20

Yes, as others have said, definitely worth the money and is something that will last for many years. Be sure to buy a prelit one! Saves hours.

Spirallingdownwards · 20/07/2024 17:21

Yes I have had mine for 12 years now. Looks like new and people still think it is a real tree every year. Yes mine is prelit too.

WilmaJean · 20/07/2024 17:23

We got ours 7 or 8 years ago and still looks fabulous. Would definitely recommend Smile

Dreamingofgoldfinchlane · 20/07/2024 17:24

Highly recommended. Ours has lasted for years and it looks fabulous.

StopInhalingRevels · 20/07/2024 17:29

Honestly, no.

I've yet to explore the newer ones coming out with the better branches, but I'm a Christmas fanatic. Bought a balsam hill maybe 4yrs ago, and sold it after 2 uses because it's a nice tree, but it's really not that great. Categorically no way people think they are real unless they are over 20ft away. In fairness, a pre lit tree was a game changer, so now I'll only look for that in a fake tree, but truly, they are over hyped. They're good, obviously superior to things like a B&Q tree, but really not that much better than places like Christmas tree world and werchristmas who sell equivalents for 1/3 of the price.

FuzzyPuffling · 20/07/2024 18:48

My "fake" tree will be 37 years old this Christmas. It's part of the family. It looks great.

Is it Balsam Hill? No. It was cheap from the big Asian warehouse place in Birmingham! ( M Latif's for those that know!)
