Can anyone help with ideas for a quick buffet tonight. I can't be bothered making a dinner so looking to just quickly make bits and pop it out for people to graze on. Me, dh and dd. I've not had champagne for ages and as peri menopause is making me feel like utter shit! I am going to treat myself to a bottle of Aldi champagne 🍾

I've made a nice chilled German potato salad with lots of veg in, and we're going to have it with nice cheeses and cold meats out the fridge. Champagne sounds good - enjoy! x

These sound fab!
Absolutely love crusty bread with olives.

Quiche

Salad bits
Cold sausages
Salami/prosciutto selection

We did that earlier in the week. Humous, avocado and aubergine dips, cheeses with nice crackers, olives, salad, mini spanakopita, sliced charcuterie and I made a quick couscous with spices, chopped apricots, fresh herbs and pine nuts.

It ended up lasting for four meals, so wasn't as expensive as I thought.

Im doing exactly this but I went to M&S. i got a few of their prepared salads (pasta salad, three cheese layered salad and a beetroot salad). Got feta to crumble on the top. Got ham and roasted chicken drumsticks (cold but cooked) which I will smother in soy and honey and shove in the oven. A baguette and butter Some blue cheese, strawberries, grapes and fresh oranges which I will segment. Some mortadella, and stuffed vine leaves.

HMTheQueenMuffin · 20/07/2024 16:45

Oh and cold boiled eggs which I make for every cold meal I ever make.

Baked camembert, Italian deli meat selection, a nice pate and baguette tends to do us.

I call those aisles in Aldi 'The Aisles of Regret'.

TBH though there is very few purchases from those aisle I have regretted. I do like a run-around just after Christmas for next year as yet unconceived new-born christmas presents though.

Bluebellsinthewind · 20/07/2024 19:23

@HMTheQueenMuffin tbh I don't think I've regretted anything, I've bought from those bits also. The other week I popped in for a top up of bread, milk etc. I came out with two big garden planter/trellis things 🤣

Grin A friend of mine who lives abroad told me she once went in for school lunch items and came out with an exercise bike.
Bluebellsinthewind · 20/07/2024 20:00
