DD2 has been up since 3:30am. At breaking point

I have two DDs, one who’s 6 and has ASD and currently being assessed for adhd as well. She did not sleep for the first 4 years, it was endless nights of 3-5 hours of broken sleep, it’s a lot better now with late bedtimes but less wakeups so I thought we were out of the woods.

dd2 is 2.5, just been referred for ASD assessment due to being nonverbal amongst other things. She has always been a good sleeper, up until about a month ago when I transitioned her out of her sleeping bag to a duvet. It’s been absolute hell since. She wakes in the middle of the night and runs around the house, she’s hard to get down; often not sleeping until 10pm. Me sitting with her doesn’t work because she thinks it’s a game and laughs/throws things at me. I think the sleeping bag made her think she couldn’t get out of bed and now that’s gone she’s got free rein to be an absolute terror. It’s genuinely like something out of a horror film, I just wake up to the sound of little feet running in darkness 😫

she’s in a floor bed but I’m actually considering going and getting a travel cot today just to stop her from escaping! Is this just a phase or is it the beginning of the same pattern I had with my older daughter? Not sure I can take another round of that!

Also to add I have tried to put her back in the sleeping bag and she kicked off massively.
