Crushing on people when your own relationship is in trouble? Is this common?!

I'm going through a very difficult time in my marriage. I don't know. We might even divorce. It's emotionally draining and I feel so lonely. I don't want to go into details as its not relevant to the post.

So, there's a guy at work. We don't really work together but we chat alot over teams. I've just seen him as a work colleague but since a few weeks, I have developed a crush on him when before he wasn't even on my radar.

My question is, has this happened to anyone else ? so you begin to feel attracted to other, seemingly random men who you wouldn't have given a second thought to when your own relationship is on the rocks.

I will snap out of this crush thing but I've been taken aback by it as one day I suddenly noticed I was looking forward to work so I could talk to him 😆

Well it's kinda natural isn't it? Something isn't making you happy so you start looking around. Say your job is no longer fulfilling or whatever. So you start thinking of applying for others and you realise you are imagining yourself in another office in a new role. Same thing!
