My neighbour recently had new fences put in. We allowed them access to replace the fences between our garden and I’m hugely regretting it.
They left so much mess, they hid things they didn’t want to dispose of such us concrete behind my child’s playhouse and sharp objects under a plant pot, they buried left over materials in my flower bed. they also done such an awful job which has left bricks and soil falling into our garden from underneath the fences as they used them to prop up the bottom of the fences. When they water their plants the water runs into our garden and I’m worried we will have a damp swamp over time.
The cowboy fencers also had to remove a piece of our side fence to make room for the new post. They agreed to replace it with a new piece of fence when they were finished. All they have done is used some old slats and nailed them to the fence next to it. This has made my garden unsecure as anyone can push their way in if they see fit and it backs onto an alley with a pub at the end.
We approached the neighbours and asked if they were rectifying the issues as promised and they are now avoiding us. I’m so angry and annoyed they have put us in this position to benefit themselves when we have helped them throughout (it took 8 DAYS for these fences to be erected!) I even took a day off work to let them in when the neighbours couldn’t. I don’t want to fall out with them but I want these damages repaired and I can’t believe the cheek of them for their lack of care or gratitude.
Where do I stand legally? They own and I rent a HA house. Is it something my landlord can deal with?
