Question for teachers

If a child stands on a thumb tack bare footed or wearing socks that a teacher had accidentally dropped and not realised what happens to the teacher?

Errr nothing, they get the child the help they need, apologise and move on. It was an accident.

bastedyoungturkey · 18/07/2024 21:52

Shot at dawn.

Summertimesaddness · 18/07/2024 21:53

Immediate call to ofsted... 🙄

Hung, drawn and quartered. Or, of course, in the real world, nothing at all. It was an accident!

User543211 · 18/07/2024 21:54

Sacked.

ThursdayTomorrow · 18/07/2024 21:55

They would feel terrible and probably not sleep.

User543211 · 18/07/2024 21:55

Op I'm hoping this isn't a reverse and that your school or kid's family aren't giving you shit about this?

HumphreysCorner · 18/07/2024 21:55

No shoes on, why? Important point I feel.

lazzapazza · 18/07/2024 21:55

7 minutes of waterboarding and 60 lashes.

Imagine Cersei's walk of shame, but worse.

AppleKatie · 18/07/2024 21:57

Bizarre question.

MakeMeAirtight · 18/07/2024 21:58

Detention

borntobequiet · 18/07/2024 22:00

I’m puzzled as to why the teacher dropped the socks, and whose socks they were.

RogersOrganismicProcess · 18/07/2024 22:00

Generally the order of events go:

Parent makes massive fuss.

Teacher apologises for the accident, assuring child was given appropriate support.

Parent still not happy and goes to the head.

Head apologises to parent then re-asks teacher to apologise again!

Parent, still somewhat disgruntled, and having spread rumours about poor safeguarding, passed complaints to the governors.

Teacher sacks off teaching and gets a better paid job with a better work life balance.

Class gets covered with supply/TA as hiring is an absolute nightmare.

AhBiscuits · 18/07/2024 22:01

Tell us what happened to you.

TheTwirlyPoos · 18/07/2024 22:01

I had a colleague that did this, they made her write a letter that was eighteen pages long. Front and back.

TwistedSisters · 18/07/2024 22:01

Am I the only one reading this as the teacher had accidentally dropped socks 😂

You missed the last part where the parent then complains that their child does not have a permanent teacher.

Buy yeah pretty much this.

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 18/07/2024 22:02

Absolutely nothing.

its an accident.

why did the child not have shoes on?

DameMargaretofChalfont · 18/07/2024 22:04

I recommend a public flogging, an immediate letter to the Governors, a call to OFSTED AND the National Media.....

.... OR people get a life and realise that accidents happen.

Get first aid for the child and notify parents.

esmeisa · 18/07/2024 22:06

Why are you asking ?

Shot at dawn.

Dawn was teaching the class next door with Colonel Mustard. Sue did it. It was Sue in the classroom with the thumb tack.

Wait. What the fuck is a thumb tack anyway?

DangerDangerHighMoisture · 18/07/2024 22:14

Nothing. ÃŒt was dropped accidentally. Plus the child should have their shoes on

DrMadelineMaxwell · 18/07/2024 22:14

Thumb tack = American for drawing pin
