Oh blast! I've bought the wrong speed mop [sad face]

The cleaner at work has a mop where you attach a bottle of floor cleaner upside down onto the pole of the handle and then you press a button on the handle (sounds like it's battery operated) and it sprays out onto the floor and you mop along behind it.

I thought I was buying this when I bought a Flash Speed Mop starter kit, but no! It's just a handle with an end bit to which you attach wet or dry wipes. Not what I wanted at all Sad Sad Sad.

What was it that I meant to buy?

A Bona mop? I've got one - bought off Amazon.

It’s a flash power mop you want. We have the speed mop, but the one with the bottle is the power mop, I think it’s purple.

I have one. It's great for me as I'm disabled

Mops have a speed now? As ever, I am so behind the times. I thought a Vileda Super Mop was rather with it.

I had one, gave it away you can get in the corners properly and you can't do the skirting boards.

You mop your skirting boards? Don’t you get water marks on the wall? My mop water gets mucky so I’ve only ever used a cloth for skirting boards.

Well, I've been a domestic cleaner for over 20 years, and most (granted not all) mop water I use stays pretty clean, but then I am thoroughly cleaning most homes at least every fortnight...so when I'm mopping, it's not unknown for me to run the (tightly wrung) mop against the skirting boards, and kick-plates in kitchens.

One of my clients bought a spray-mop to clean her new Karndean floor...it was an awful thing to use. It wobbled, it was very weak to press down on, and I always thought that spraying the floor & mopping with a dry pad was just smearing the dirt around & pushing it into the grain of the floor.

I don't know what happened, but suddenly one day she announced she'd binned the spray mop and purchased the concentrated Karndean floor cleaning liquid, which I put in my mop bucket & mop "normally" with my heavy-duty looped-string mop.

Thanks - I guess it was the power mop! Oh well, I'm not going to buy two new things to clean the kitchen floor, I'll live with what I've got.

I do prefer a proper mopping with hot water but I was tempted to buy something quick after the food liner burst open as I was emptying the caddy just before leaving for work the other morning. Rotting food all over the floor which of course I picked up but I would have liked to do a very quick 2 minute mop so that it wasn't waiting for me when I got back from work.

I don't think they work very well, mine seems to leave the dirt all around the edges of the kitchen. Maybe I'm doing something wrong
