Do you prefer the North West or North East?

I’ve just returned from a trip to the North East of England and was in the North West two months ago and I can’t decide which I prefer.

I appreciate that they cover a large varied area but I’m curious to know where Mumsnetters would rather be/live?

I can’t compare these two, but I would say I find coastal east e.g coast of Essex and Siuth Suffolk a bit odd. I like the look but the architecture seems so unlike anything elsewhere in the country.

I've visited both numerous times, don't live in either.

Love both places but overall prefer north West. Liverpool is probably my favourite city in the entire country.

North east I think. Northumberland is lovely and I'm a big beach fan.
