As the poem goes…

Monday’s child is fair of face,
Tuesday’s child is full of grace,
Wednesday’s child is full of woe,
Thursday’s child has far to go,
Fridays’ child works hard for its living,
Saturday’s child is loving and giving,
But the child that is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe and good and gay.

I am a Friday’s child, and I certainly do!

Friday. Me, too, though now retired 😊 I always felt sorry for the Wednesdays: what a rotten line to have!

Giggorata · 18/07/2024 05:32

I'm a Saturday's child.
Form an orderly queue and I'll give you all a hug.

SushiSheep · 18/07/2024 05:33

@Garlickest I know right! Wednesday Addams was named after this poem.
Mind you, the husband is a Wednesday, and a grumpy bugger he is too 😆

I’m Tuesday’s Child and as graceful as a drunken water buffalo.

JurassicClark · 18/07/2024 05:43

You’ve got Friday and Saturday the wrong way around.

Giggorata · 18/07/2024 05:44

Nooooooooooo!
(but it explains a lot)

No hugs…

CeeJay81 · 18/07/2024 05:58

I had to check, as I didn't know what day was born on. Apparently i'm full of grace 😁🤣

LaMarschallin · 18/07/2024 06:03

Wednesday Sad
Although I did read a positive refraining of the "full of woe" thing suggesting that it means Wednesday's child is intelligent and hence always looks serious...
A bit of of a reach but I'll take what I can get!

You're right.
Hadn't spotted that initially but Saturday's child definitely "works hard for a living".

This. Friday and Saturday are wrong way round

WatchingTheTime · 18/07/2024 06:08

You're actually "loving and giving" if you're Friday's child.

Which one are you?
Garlickest · 18/07/2024 06:09

Who cares, I'm loving, giving and hard-working (according to me) 😏

DrRiverSong · 18/07/2024 06:09

I was born on a Sunday. It’s fairly true. I’m pretty upbeat and well behaved 🤣

SushiSheep · 18/07/2024 06:51

Well I never! I’m questioning my very existence now.
Off to tell miserable DH 😅

Well I never! I’m questioning my very existence now.

On the plus side you've suddenly become loving and giving.
That might cheer up your sad DH.

You’re right! I’d better start living up to my new-found status…

Friday. I wouldn't say I'm particularly loving and giving tbh.
I identify with Thursday, far to go.

DustyLee123 · 18/07/2024 06:59

I am Wednesday, and I am since I hit peri menopause!

the80sweregreat · 18/07/2024 07:22

Thursday , I didn't go too far !
Dh is Thursday and he travelled a lot with his old job ..
Ds2 is Wednesday and he was a tricky one sometimes , an angry baby ! Lovely now though
Ds1 was Monday and had fair hair
Always felt for the Saturday ones! ( I know a Saturday one and she has !)
(.. because it's Saturday one that works hard for a living , not Friday ones)
If your born Friday the 13th , I've no idea what are lol

LaMarschallin · 18/07/2024 07:34

Just looked up DH and he's Wednesday too.
So if you see a mardy-looking couple out with two young women, one of whom looks tired from working hard, one of whom is "fair of face", and a graceful (hmm...) toddler...
Do stop and say hello!
Might cheer DH and me up Smile

FrenchFancie · 18/07/2024 07:42

That’s quite funny actually - DH was born on a Thursday, about 2,000 miles away so he certainly went far!

i was a Fridays child - not sure if I work that hard for my living, but about to retrain into a hard job so I suspect that’s going to change!!!

honeylulu · 18/07/2024 07:55

I'm a Tuesday child and I'm incredibly clumsy and accident prone. Full of grace I am not, sadly.

My son is Monday and he's quite a looker so correct for him. Daughter is Thursday and she's always complaining about being shorter than all her friends. I keep telling her she will catch up so maybe she does have "far to go".

LaMarschallin · 18/07/2024 07:55

But are you loving and giving?
OP got Friday and Saturday mixed up (see upthread).
Good luck with the job anyway Smile

Dearg · 18/07/2024 07:59

DH and I are both Wednesday . He is a tad pessimistic generally, while I am the annoyingly cheerful one.
Or maybe I just appear that way in comparison 🤔

Bluevelvetsofa · 18/07/2024 08:24

I’m Thursday. I’ve moved from the north to the south, then to the south coast, so I do t know whether that is ‘far to go’.
