WWYD? Babysitter

A couple of years ago we asked our child's old nursery teacher if any would be willing to babysit. One said yes and we have been using her on an ad hoc basis ever since.

Thing is she doesnt always respond to messages. Sometimes she will apologise as she forgot but other times she won't. I can't work out whether she just doesn't want to babysit for us any longer. In person, she's lovely and seems to really enjoy my dc; I know they are well behaved for her and often she's just with them for an hour and then tucking them in and then they sleep. So fairly easy going.

I text her last week and asked if she had any particular evenings when she was free and no response. As it happens, a work thing has come up so I've text again to ask if she's free on x date and no response yet either.

It's not that she never says no so it's not that she finds it too awkward and avoids responding for that reason.

But surely it's not hard to respond to a text?! I always respond so find it odd when people just say they forgot etc.

Should I just let it go and find someone else? Thing is I feel really comfortable as I know she knows my dc well. They are 7&5 for reference.

I'd take that as a slow fade and find another sitter.
