Does anyone know how to knit this cat toy?

Not sure of the correct place to post this, apologies if in the wrong place. I got given this at the local cat charity shop. My kitten absolutely loves it. Does anyone know how to knit this or have a pattern at all? I can’t knit but my mum can with a pattern. Thanks for reading :)

You know that your mum is going to slave over this toy and your kitten is going to promptly completely ignore it for ever.
That is the rules in cat land.

They all absolutely love it, they’re all arguing over it, anything else - other than a cardboard box they ignore 😂

Could it have catnip in it?

My cats have had and loved and destroyed a lot of similar toys. I think it's due to the size and weight being right for them to wrestle, grab and kick at and throw around. But I think part of the attraction is that they have catnip in that sends them crazy.

If it's the catnip, rather than the knitting, Mollies Mice come highly recommended. The ultimate catnip mouse is sadly no longer produced since Culpeper went out of business.
