Honest thoughts on my smile

Nothing is wrong with the health of my teeth but I'm very self conscious with how they look. They aren't seriously bent or anything but I feel as though they don't stand out when I smile and they are quite small and half of them can't be seen when I smile. These are different angles. What are your thoughts?

I have been considering composite bonding or whitening but it costs a lot so I really want to make sure first. Do you think I should consider cosmetic treatment or just do some whitening as they are quite dull?

Thank you

You have a lovely smile. Don't ruin it with horrible fake white teeth!

Looks fine to me. A nice natural smile. Don’t ruin your teeth by having them shaved and stay away from Turkey.

DentalDisaster · 17/07/2024 16:25

Perfectly lovely teeth!

If you think they are dull just book a scale and polish, it can make the world of difference.

Posting as someone who has paid £££’s for an implant that not only looks awful, but causes me pain 24 / 7, I would say leave well alone. It’s not worth the risk ime.

FadedRed · 17/07/2024 16:26

You have a lovely smile, Op.
Please do not deliberately damage your natural, healthy teeth with unnecessary cosmetic dentistry.

KatiesMumWoof · 17/07/2024 16:28

Your smile is fine. It's not necessary to spend a lot of money to change it. I'd go with scale & polish if I were you.

Fannyfiggs · 17/07/2024 16:29

Your smile is so naturally beautiful. And I'm not just saying that, I genuinely mean it's beautiful.

Don't go messing with something when there's no need.

UpThereForThinkingDownThereForDancing · 17/07/2024 16:31

You have a really nice smile op.

ThirtyAll · 17/07/2024 16:36

I think your teeth are absolutely fine. You could get them whitened and see if that helps?

They look slightly inverted. Maybe ask a dentist for a consultation on what they could do to improve the appearance of your teeth. Maybe a brace at the back of your top teeth to push them forward?

I know nothing about orthodontics or cosmetic dentistry btw but I had a private consultation to consider how my teeth could be improved and I found it really useful to know what could be done. I still haven’t had it done though as I am plucking up the courage and saving up the money!

ThirtyAll · 17/07/2024 16:37

Some people just don’t have a very toothy smile and you don’t and it’s fine!

Glitterbiscuits · 17/07/2024 16:37

You aren't supposed to see all teeth when people smile.

It's just fashion at the moment.

potionofmagic · 17/07/2024 16:38

They look fine op, I really wouldn't think anything of your teeth they seem nice and white and healthy. I think this is a case of your view being altered by seeing so many people with veneers these days on the internet and on TV. Veneers are not healthy teeth. Even with braces to straighten your teeth often involve extractions of health teeth to make for more room and extractions can and often do cause bone loss as we get older which can lead to more facial sagging when you get to menopause for example.

Look at Kate Moss, she is a beauty icon and her teeth are not perfectly straight.

bergamotorange · 17/07/2024 16:42

Your teeth are fine. Celebs have massive plastic shiny teeth, don't compare natural teeth to these. Your teeth are better.

Try to think about things that matter - put your teeth out of your mind.

bonzaitree · 17/07/2024 16:43

I think they’re fine. All present and correct!

you could get some whitening strips- crest are good and cheap as chips.

No trips to Turkey!

Absolutely lovely smile from all angles.
I can't see anything to feel self conscious about.

😃

Callalllaaammma · 17/07/2024 17:02

Your smile is pretty I would leave it and not go through lots of money and pain for nothing.

Donaldpump · 17/07/2024 17:07

I think your teeth are lovely OP. I say that as someone who had 3 years of fixed dental braces mid thirties and honestly if I had teeth like yours I wouldn’t have! I don’t think they need whitening, but if you did want to you could have them whitened (I did as mine were very yellow and I was really pleased with the results).
