Do nhs dentist have to give you white fillings when pregnant?

They are not allowed to put amalgam fillings in , whilst you are pregnant, so may put in a long lasting “intermediate” filling until the baby is born. If it is on a front tooth it will be white , if it is a very small filling on a back tooth they may put a composite (white) filling in.

Thank you! Will it be a temporary filling or a ‘proper’ filling?

It depends
if it’s a large hole, difficult to keep dry , you’ve had a lot of decay in the past it is more likely to be a medium term filling that will need replacing after baby is born.

If it’s a small hols, easy to keep dry , you’ve not had much decay then you may get a permanent composite (white ) filling.
