Feeling tired and headachey on evenings I don't have wine

Does anybody else get this? Why?! If I have a glass of wine when I'm cooking I seem to be able to stay up later, no headachey feeling. If I don't have a glass of wine I am so exhausted by 8ish and I often have a heavy slightly achey head. I sleep deeply and i get that headache feeling like you've slept too much in the day.

Why would this be?!

Some withdrawal? Are you drinking enough water? I would have a week off the wine drink plenty water and see what happens.

A whole week without wine!
WTF!
Jeez! Talk about going straight for the nuclear option!

MarshmallowPink · 17/07/2024 12:06

I drink loads of water. Especially on days I don't have wine.

Haha, a week does sound depressing! But I've given up for months before and honestly felt shitter!

I think it's the sugar rather than the alcohol giving a bit of extra energy

The fact that the thought of a whole week without wine is such an issue, suggests that you have an issue!

SatinHeart · 17/07/2024 12:10

Agree with pp unless you are drinking loads of wine then it's probably just the sugar.

For me I'm not sure about wine vs no wine, but I find a cup of tea just before or just after dinner makes me far less sluggish for the rest of the evening.

gamerchick · 17/07/2024 12:10

It'll be the sugar in the wine. However it could be masking some bodily needs you're not meeting. I would actually have a couple of weeks off to figure out what it is that's being neglected.

MarshmallowPink · 17/07/2024 12:11

I hadn't thought about sugar, I think you're right!
