Someone did what I've always wanted to do and never dared 🤣

My drink was made incorrectly so it was put back by the coffee machine and I waited for them to make the right one (not being fussy, I asked for decaf and it was not).

A woman who was ordering at the counter while this was happening asked if she could have the coffee originally made for me - "if you're going to throw it away otherwise" - and they gave it to her 🤣

I was delighted - and she said to me "I owe you one!"

I've always wondered what they do with those drinks but I've never seen anyone ask to have it. Do the staff drink them? Do they chuck them?

Anyway that tickled me.

I'm surprised they didn't charge her for it.

Pret are pretty good for empowering their staff not to be able to make their own decisions about not charging. I've had free coffee there twice. Once when it was the wrong one made for someone else and they offered it to me and once when they'd forgotten to add the charge to my order so just waived it

Yeah before the subscription I had a few coffees for free there - well today I got a free banana at least 🤣

I'm glad they gave her the coffee - how silly to waste it just because.

Seems a good idea don't ask don't get.
