Haven’t been on holiday for years and those days it was booked through a travel agent so no idea which online company to use.
Ive googled but not sure which ones are trustworthy (apart from Tui)…..any advice appreciated.
Not travelling until whitsun half term next year and don’t mind where as long as it’s got a pool and maybe a slide for the kids

We used Jet2 for the first time this year and were quite impressed. More leg room on the plane than Tui. Have also used Tui in the past though and they were also fine.

Iwasjustasking · 16/07/2024 22:06

Jet 2, everything included such as baggage and transfers so don’t have to worry about anything!

Lots of good deals at the moment on EasyJet holidays and On the Beach.

Jet 2 are very reliable

Have just booked our third TUI holiday. We’ve been very happy with them.

I like that I can book with a small deposit and then make payments. It makes the holiday more affordable, and also, I love everything being included - flights, transfers, accommodation and food

Doggymummar · 16/07/2024 22:09

I used last minute.com very good indeed, choice of about 14 airlines could mix and match flight times, private transfers and great accommodation.

oOiluvfriendsOo · 16/07/2024 22:10

Jet 2 and Tui

dementedpixie · 16/07/2024 22:11

We flew with Jet2 this year and last year too

TeenLifeMum · 16/07/2024 22:11

I found the holiday we wanted on Tui then checked jet2 and easyjet. EasyJet was £1k cheaper than Tui for the same holiday (flights and hotel). I’ve used easyJet once before and it was great, easy and a good app.

HeddaGarbled · 16/07/2024 22:14

We use Tui just because they’re the one who fly from our regional airport.

I suspect they’re much of a muchness.

purpledagger · 16/07/2024 22:15

we use Tui.

Meadowfinch · 16/07/2024 22:16

Our holiday is with Jet2 but I still used a travel agent. I walked in to them on June 26th and said I want somewhere short haul, medium warm, leaving on the 12th July, back on the 19th, twin room, b&b with a pool, flying from a south west airport.

What is there left for x budget? and they came up with two options. Abta/Atol.

Worked perfectly, no hassle.😎

I like Hays Travel, you can go in or do it over the phone and the give recommendations.

Haribosweets · 16/07/2024 22:23

I use Tui but I don't book online and I go into the shop. I prefer sitting with an agent, they match online prices and any issues you can go in and they will help. They can't help in store if you book online. They will also check you onto the flight and print boarding cards 2 weeks before. But you can do this yourself even if you go in the shop

TheFairyCaravan · 16/07/2024 22:27

I always use Tui/First Choice. I’m disabled and they treat me better than when I went with Jet2. I book online, but before I book I phone and check that the hotel I have chosen is suitable and the seats I need are available on the flight I want.

reluctantbrit · 16/07/2024 22:32

We used Tui twice. First time only the hotel as we had an EasyJet voucher after Covid and the second time hotel and flight. Flights were with BA though.

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 16/07/2024 22:33

Jet2 again. Tui once cancelled an entire holiday after they'd left us at the gates 10 hours after we should have flown with no rep in sight.
I'd say try and go with a regional small airport as well.

ToWonderWhyIBother · 16/07/2024 22:39

Jet2 the last 6 holidays, customer service is brilliant if you need to alter any details of your holiday once its booked. Cheaper than tui, and I wont use On the Beach or Love Holidays, bad experience in the past.

ImNotAsThinkAsYouDrunkIAm · 16/07/2024 22:44

We are not package holiday people, but were really impressed with Jet2. All went really smoothly, transfers on time, people helping you with the self check in machines (a complete contrast to Easyjet where I have never been so confused in my life checking in car seats), and so much leg room on the plane!

Imnotarestaurant · 16/07/2024 23:05

We used to use TUI but now prefer Jet2. Everything is included in the price you see on Jet2, and it’s easy to compare prices for different dates and airports. With TUI it seems you are getting a good price then once you add on luggage and transfers (and nobody is going for two weeks in the sun with small children and only taking hand luggage) the price rockets.

billyt · 17/07/2024 00:43

As others have said, Jet2.

Been on quite few package holidays with them. Customer service always great. Quite a few of the hotels they use, at the end of your holiday, you can check in your luggage actually at the hotel, then go off and have a few more hours enjoying yourselves.

When lockdown happened they were by miles the best company to deal with. We'd booked a few breaks with different providers. While other companies were trying to palm us off with bloody vouchers or demanding we rebook, Jet2 called me, gave me ALL my options and when I asked for my refund, did it while I was on the phone.

I know who got our business when things opened up again.

LipstickedPowderedAndPainted · 17/07/2024 00:52

Jet2 again. Been good every time before. So fingers crossed 🤞
Happy holidays everyone

Tensmom · 20/07/2024 09:00
