Does anyone remember these rides from a theme park in the 90s?

Around the NorthWest.
First was an octopus that had lights all down it's arms. And you sat in cars at the end of it's arms and ot spun you round.

And the 2nd was a pair of dragons that sat next to each other and went round in a circle motion. I've googled dragon ride but can only found rollercoasters but there's were more stationary, sort of like a pirate ship type thing?

Flambards?

No that's not it. It wasn't a coaster on a track.

I think they were on arms with weights or something so they just went up and down in a circular motion.

Thanks for looking though

Alton Towers had an octopus ride years ago, no idea if it's still there.

I remember both of these but don't know where it could have been. Perhaps light water valley or flamingo land?

Flambards?

Flambards is southwest not north west. And didn't have an octopus thing

My first thought was Creally in Wadebridge Cornwall that had a octopus thing

You didn't have a holiday in Cornwall didn't it

DragonMemories · 16/07/2024 21:13

No. Never been to Cornwall

These trips were with a youth club so they would have been in the NW.

I remember American Adventure had a kind of octopus ride many years ago. I can't remember where that was though!

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 16/07/2024 21:16

Octopus one was possibly Monster at Blackpool Pleasure beach?

(They had one called Griffin's magic dragon too but can't find a pic of that)

TronaldDump · 16/07/2024 21:16

Here it is. It was Derbyshire so not quite NW but not miles away?

Omg that's it!!

I just googled it, yes, it's where the playstation/tango iceblast is now.

It was my favourite ride in the world, especially when it was almost time to go home and the lights came on it!

Thankyou!

Alton towers also had the beastie ride which was a dragon Sort of on a very small and slow coaster track but it just trundled round slowly in a circle. There may have been a small incline. I don’t remember there being two dragons but possibly
