Towns Around Catterick Garrison

Hi there, me and my husband will be moving to Catterick Garrison in September. I was wondering what the nice towns are around there? Is Durham too far to commute?

Richmond and Northallerton are a lot closer.

It's straight down the A1(M) from Durham. Takes about 30 minutes to get down that way. Richmond is a nice small town very close to Catterick.

Darlington is very nice, think Durham may be a little far, Richmond also nice and several other smaller town / villages near that might be nice but not so clear on those. Look at a map and see whats around good luck with the move.

Richmond is lovely. Northallerton is nice and is on the train to York, Leeds and Newcastle. All are near some nice scenery.

Barnard Castle is a nice small town.
